This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see mountain gorillas up close in their own environment, in real ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ territory – Volcanoes National Park (French: Parc National des Volcans)

The tour starts and ends in Kampala. You will do the Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in Uganda.

Before you get to the Gorilla Trekking misty jungles, your journey will take you across central Uganda through the tropical landscape with a lot of green, a bit of savannah to the Virunga highlands of the south west in Kigezi dubbed the “Switzerland of East Africa”

Day One

Your driver guide picks you up from Serena Hotel and we depart Kampala heading southwest via the equator and Masaka. We will have lunch in Mbarara, after which we will proceed through to Kabale Uganda’s most elevated town and on through the magnificent Kigezi highlands and on to Bwindi.

Day Two

After breakfast, we head to the information center for a briefing before embarking on the long awaited trek. Gorilla trekking may last from 3 hours up to 8 hours or more of the day sometimes under wet conditions. It is advisable to bring along sturdy hiking boots, rain poncho and be physically ready. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the mountain gorillas is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Return to lodge for a well deserved hot shower and rest.

Day Three

After breakfast depart Bwindi with the memory of our experience with the great mountain gorillas. On the way, we will make a stop at the equator to shop for souvenirs and take photographs.

Arrive Kampala this late evening and dropped off at overnight Hotel. End of gorilla safari.
