With the recent introduction by Aerolink of flights to Mbarara a town very close to Lake Mburo National Park, Border-Less Travel is creating a 24 hour safari experience to this park that will give you a great safari experience in Uganda without the long drives. This safari is perfect for those who do not have a lot of time, but still want to get a safari experience before they depart the “Pearl Of Africa”.
Here is how the itinerary goes;
Depart Kampala aboard Aerolink plane to Mbarara at 1015AM and arrive Mbarara at 1100AM. You will be transferred to your lodge through the park where you will encounter wildlife on your way. Your driver will stop for pictures as you sight wildlife that is all over the 370 square kilometer park. Common wildlife sightings in Lake Mburo are; Zebra, Hippo, Impala, Eland, Giraffe, Warthog, Cape Buffalo. Leopard and Lion are also seen here often. Lake Mburo national Park is home to hundred of species of birds. You will head to your lodge, either Mohagany Springs lodge for upmarket/luxury safari or Lake Mburo Safari Lodge for midrange safari reservation (contact us for details on these packages – firstname.lastname@example.org)
You will check in at your lodge, have lunch and after lunch you will head out for a game drive through the park. The drive this afternoon will include a stop at the lake for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo to see Hippo and other water wildlife up close.You will also have optional 1 hour activities like horse riding, cycling through the park if time allows and you are keen to ride with wildlife. Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening.
Breakfast at 7AM, then you will take a morning game drive to get another experience of this park in the cool hours which are ideal for seeing the Lions and Hyenas. You will return to the lodge to shower, refresh, checkout and drive to Mbarara airstrip to catch your Aerolink flight scheduled for 1245PM back to Entebbe. This will complete your best 24 hour experience ever. Okay, it’s just over 24 hours, but lets keep it called “The 24 hour flight safari’ so it still looks cool okay!
